Delivering on a new mission-critical radar requirement
Problem: The performance of a military radar system was not high enough to keep up with new mission-critical requirements. Designers needed an X band synthesizer with outstanding phase noise, ultra-fast switching, high spurious free dynamic range, and the ability to perform arbitrary waveform generation.
Solution: An X Band synthesizer was quickly created using high performance mix/divide expanders and a custom engineered output module to meet the customer's rigorous signal power requirements. An internal memory was also provided to store the customer's custom chirp waveforms. The resulting synthesizer exceeded all requirements while easily meeting the delivery schedule.
